Eid Salah
Eid Salah at Hethersett Masjid
Eid Salah is a significant and joyous occasion for Muslims, marking the end of Ramadan (Eid al-Fitr) and the culmination of the Hajj pilgrimage (Eid al-Adha). At Hethersett Masjid, we invite the community to join us for these special prayers, coming together in worship and gratitude to Allah (SWT).
Eid al-Fitr Salah
Eid al-Fitr, the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” celebrates the completion of Ramadan. It is a time of joy, unity, and reflection on the blessings of the holy month. The Eid prayer is offered in congregation, followed by a sermon (khutbah) and the giving of Zakat al-Fitr (charity).
Eid al-Adha Salah
Eid al-Adha, the “Festival of Sacrifice,” commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son, Isma’il (AS), in obedience to Allah’s command. After the Eid prayer, Muslims around the world sacrifice animals and distribute the meat to those in need. Eid al-Adha reminds us of the importance of submission to Allah and charity.
